Gentle Pilates on the Chair

Would you like to move every day with less pain, greater freedom of movement and an improved sense of well being?

 

Based around a chair, this new Pilates focused class is specially designed for men and women of all ages with reduced mobility, stiff joints, poor balance and a lack of strength due to illness or inactivity.  

 

Pilates, which is mindful movement, has powerful capabilities to improve health and well being if practiced regularly.  In this gentle class, we will work through a full series of seated and standing movements to make you stronger, more supple and fit to enjoy your life.  Over time, everyday movements such as getting up and down from the toilet, picking something up from the floor, walking up and down the stairs, getting in and out of the car and even putting on shoes and socks will become easier. Through practice, you'll learn to move "younger" than you did before.  

This class has been specially designed for people who are unable or have difficulty getting up and down to the mat. The only prerequisites for joining are that you have a degree of mobility that enables you to sit and rise from the chair at your own pace and that you can stand and exercise holding onto the chair  for support as you need to.

 

No matter what your starting point is, your age or fitness level, Julie and I will warmly welcome you to the studio, take good care of you and keep you safe in movement.
